The trees branches hung low to the ground, the life having yet to really return to them in a full amount, and as the soft morning breeze blew through my soft fur, the leaves began to ruffle and make a sort of sound of their own. A few birds were beginning to stir in their nests, not many taking flight yet, but rather moving around, waking up, and carefully cleaning their feathers, I suppose. I snorted as a blue jay sung out, my teeth snapping the air with force - yet it was no doubt that I was not the most powerful dog in the world. Sure, I can fight and I can fight good for my size and brain, but I don't exactly have the bronze that most dogs have. I suppose that is what comes with being a shorter, petite female then, eh? My head shook and I smirked, walking under the tree of the god-forsaken birds; my eyes quickly fixing back on the dirt trail before me.
It wasn't much, but this trail was the best way to avoid the town, and while the Mooners will still a-going, I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to walk through the town. Fighting just didn't sound like a pleasant idea at four something in the morning; but perhaps that's just me? I shook my head and my dark eyes scouted the trail for anything that would make a good morning meal, but the only life around me was them damn birds. As I considered knocking a nest out of a tree and then killing the surprised bird... the thought seemed sort of mean and cruel. I chuckled to myself, almost like a man would, then nodded. Oh well, I was hungry and really anything would taste good, even if it was guilt covered. I slowly picked my tree, a smaller one, with the bark worn and the branches low enough to the earth that even a dog about my height - or the height of a collie as you'd probably rather hear, so you knew how tall I was - could reach with ease. My front end lowered and I eyed the branches carefully, taking note of were the weren't weaved together so good; I mean, really now, I didn't want to break the nest, just knock it to the dirt.
Finally, I found a spot that appeared to be good enough. My hindquarters lifted as my head came in close contact with the ground. My ears fell back on my head, lips curling up so my yellowish toned teeth could show. Suddenly, I shot myself up, my legs obviously having enough power to fling my body through he air like so. Black nose flung upward and hit the nest before my legs touched the ground once more. Tongue ran over my pretty little muzzle, and I allowed my head to follow the movement of the falling home. As quickly as it came down, I had sprung forward and grabbed the first sparrow that I spotted as it tried to flutter its wings and take off. Teeth dug into the flesh and sort of plead came from the mouth of the bird, before it was dead. Two others were off within seconds of my grabbing the first, and I snorted toward them, dropping their companion and placing one of my white tipped paws upon his tiny chest.
The warm blood stained my whiskers and the taste held place in my mouth. Unlike many others, I wasn't blood thirsty and thus, payed the bitter taste little mind as I lowered my muzzle and dug into the bird, deciding to eat everything but the bone, as I must eat enough to fill me for quite some time, but not enough so as my darkened morning time would end. I mean really now, the sun was coming up and I must hurry if I wanted to guarantee my safe arrival to my destination. With ease, my canines tore through the dead thing and I swallowed the meat happily, drinking a bit of the blood to keep myself from becoming thirsty to quickly. Now it wasn't water, but it would do. Within moments, the meal was close to gone and I called it good, tearing a bone from its joints and then using the top of my muzzle to toss the rest of the body to the base of the tree that shaded me so well.
I didn't chew the bone, or lord no, but instead carried it in my mouth; but it was not very big and thus couldn't really my spotted, so it didn't matter if I gnawed on it or not. My paws shifted and I took to the darker shadows, doing my best not to pay attention to the sunrise. I had to hurry! My beat picked up from a trot to almost a sprint as I dashed through the leaves and branches as they raised and the trees came back to life, paying no mind to the flowers as I trampled them to nothing more than a mix of colors smashed into the dirt behind me. Tail hung and didn't really move in anyway as I dashed toward the old building. It was rotting - bad, as I guessed if I could see it from my place about three-hundred meters behind it - and I lowered my head as so I could gain more momentum. My feet were quick, almost unsee-able as I came to the old building and swung around the side, trying to get to the front. Okay, so you may be wondering by now. I'm not a Mooner, I am a Sunner. No, I don't have super speed, but I am fast and agile, buddy, so don't think you can get past me.
The salmon tongue that was unfortunately mine, hung from the side of my muzzle, the orangy fur around it bright as the light began to shine over the horizon and upon me. There were the steel doors... come on! I pushed myself so hard I thought I was going to topple over dead, my heart was beating so fast. My breaths were heavy, my chest pounding and hurting as I tried to go faster, faster; just to reach the door. I looked over my shoulder, back at where the towns people had once lived, and I slid to a stop. Now I felt like those poor mutts they used to torment! Slowly, I remembered those days...
'Haha, Jim; bring me a pan!' The man at the fence would call as a dog came up to him, eye gloomy and pleading for a meal. I snorted and watched from my perch on a truck across the street. With ease, they tempted the stray with a piece of meat, then tied a pan around his tail. So many dogs had seen it, yet so many still fell for it. Perhaps it was the hunger that made them forget, but here it went again. The second man, Jim or whatever, made a loud sound that sent the stray a-running, the pan beating behind him and hitting him. He was so scared, he couldn't stop running and soon enough, ran himself to death, many of the men watching and laughing. I lowered my head and drifted to sleep, that poor soul.
I shook the memory from my head and as I was glad to see it leave, another came, this one with Ma. I snarled as I remembered them bribing her with food, and while she normally wouldn't fall for it, she needed to feed us. Slowly, she went, only to be drizzled with gas-o-line. As quickly as the fluid was dropped on her, a match fell and lit her up like a Christmas tree. Pa tried to save her, but it was no use and in result, he tried to hide her burning body from us while Ma tried to put out the flames by leaping into a horse trough. Sure, the water rid her of the flame; but the humans had already left her with such bad burns, it was no time before she would bleed out and die. Almost like they felt bad, the humans pulled out a rifle, and with a loud noise that made me feel deaf; they left a hole in her head and her deader than a cat with no head. I snarled again and snorted; glad those humans were all gone or dead no, even if their stenches still filled the area.
I was snapped back to reality as my fur lit up, glowing a bright silver. Crap! I almost yelped as I looked down at my paws. Sling-shooting myself through the old entrance, I hit the ground and lit up like my own Christmas tree. As quickly as it had come, the glow and flash of light left and I was coloured odd. My beautiful orange fur was now a purpley red colour, bright as the sky was blue, and the white markings of mine now tinted teal - including my chest, face, and paws. I sighed sadly and picked myself up. Well, at least I made it... even if I did change... Frowning, my now bright teal blue eyes scanned the inside of the building, filling my mind with bad memories. I had come with a devilish plan; I was going to destroy what was left of this shit hole; but it was far too late, I was now my day self, the part of me that really started fight. Ahaha; man was I great?
Flinging my body up in such a way as you would think I was royalty, my paws took striking steps into the building, my only source of light being what sun could shine through the boarded doors and windows. Shaking the collected dusk from my pelt and then licking my lips, I entered the darker places of the room, taking into the shadows before moving back into the light. "better play it safe, then sorry." I giggled as I said it, never really thinking that I could ever manage those words, but then again, I really didn't want to cut myself and end up with glass in my pads. Those large ears of mine stood properly up and I looked around carefully, just about everything seeming the same, besides the blood stains on the floor and the broken tubes. Last I remembered, the professor had stood on the largest of the spots and the tubes were filled with the odd green, blue, and purple liquids he liked to inject in us. My eyes rolled at the thought of those days, and I almost whined as I remembered all the ones that I had died during testings. Those were sad times. Lucky I was one of the final products and thus, only had a colour change, maybe even a personality change, as I have been told I have that. Humph, I suppose it was true.
My tail held a soft beat to it, nothing too special, but it was moving. As I moved to darker places, my fur took a more red colour to it, but the second the sun shone upon me, it was more of a purple. Odd? Indeed; but I had seen many more that were ten times stranger than that when they changed. I shook my head with a sort of laugh, then went back toward the door. Since my change, I really didn't feel like blowing up the building, at least not right now; so I would watch and wait for another canine instead, or so I had decided I would. Instead, I managed to doze off and slid down the wall into a lying position. My head rested on my forepaws, and I sighed, almost happily now, as I began to dream of the days when I was back with Ma, Pa, and my siblings. Those days were good. Man, I really needed someone to show up, all these memories were filling my head with emotions that I didn't want there. My tail rested softly in a pile of broken glass from the window above it and my ears softly fell forward a little, so as the tips appeared to fold over. Now, I would rest and wait, for either someone to show, or to change back to myself this evening. In all reality, I think that the first possibility of things to happen, sounded a TON better.

Now - 0600 hours - somewhere in the laboratory The building was silent. A dog lay in a mess of broken metal tables and chairs, totally unconscious. As the boom from a door shutting rang through the lab, it - she - raised an eyelid and groaned. "Damn." Bad night. She closed the eye again. The dog was a greyhound, silver and white in color..a small female. She raised her head as something clattered in an air vent, nerves flickering in her golden eyes. A quick sniff of the air calmed her fears..just a mouse, smelling of filth and dust. The greyhound groaned slightly and raised a paw, feeling the top of her head. It was fine, only a little sore. Whatever injuries she had gotten from crashing headfirst into a stack of metal tables seemed to have healed themselves overnight. Lucky her. That might be the only good thing about her condition..one almost never got seriously hurt. She froze, raising her head and tail as pawsteps rang through the building. What was that? A dog, obviously. There wasn't much else that it could be. The greyhound swallowed hard, fear threatening to choke her, and laid her head down again. Time to get her game face on. It was another day. First, though..try to remember, figure out if she'd hurt anyone this time. Hopefully not, but one never knew...
Earlier - 0100 hours - behind Chuck's Grocery "Find a place to rest, ugly monster." The mooner crouched, glaring into the dark, red eyes flashing with beastly intent. The sounds of dogs in the night started it..her..quivering, hunger growling in her gut. There was nobody here, though - not a dog, not even a stray cat. They all stayed away from the abandoned metal boxes, the 'dumpsters'. For good reason. The mooner could smell the stench of rotting animal coming from them, some creature that had gotten itself stuck and slowly died in the metal bins. That was why she was here. It was the only way... "Yah, monster. That's all you are. Stay behind the boxes," the mooner says, snapping her jaws and shaking her hairless head as if she has flies. "Stay behind or the light will get you." The morning light, of course, was a long ways off..but if she could trick herself it would all be fine. It was stupid - no, it was insane, but there was no other way unless there was to be nothing but death in the town of Dogsong. Death, decay, the fury of hunger during the night.. No, enough! That train of thought led to madness. And besides, she didn't like to think of that anyway..not tonight, while she was so damn hungry. The mooner snarls at herself, yellowed claws gouging at the concrete. She'd give her wings for a dog to come across her right now, a weak live mooner, fearless in the dark but not knowing of the death - the undeath -waiting beyond the light. How his blood would stain the ground..
The greyhound raised her head again, glancing around quickly. The pawsteps had stopped. Maybe she'd be able to get out the door this time. Whoever had come in - a sunner, probably - might have left it open. If she hurried, she had a chance of getting past. First, though, the rest of it. It was hard to get through, but she would take all the punishment she could get. She was a coward.
"Shut up." Her thoughts fall silent and the picture of the imaginary mooner disappears, leaving nothing but a fearsome beast lying alone behind dumpsters. The creature breathes in the air, then chokes and drags herself upright. The stench was too much for her now, and besides, things were getting out of hand. Time to move on and find a safer place to hide for the rest of the night. Black wings snap open with a crack of shifting bones and the mooner takes a few experimental flaps. She could fly tonight. Safer than running, and easier too..no lights shone above the ground but the moon and the stars. Tonight there was no moon, and no pain to feel as she flew. Bat wings lifted her over the buildings with ease, catching the night breeze and riding it. The mooner rose, flapped twice, and circled quietly over the buildings, a snarl rising. Monstrous, she was..it was easy to see. A greyhound in size and shape, but hairless..even fleshless in some places, the skin gone to expose muscle and bone to the air. Red eyes that seemed sightless but, in fact, revealed the details of the land below her with barely a shadow. Immense bat wings rose from her shoulders, barely flapping as she hovered. The beast was hunting now as the mooner scrambled for control of it, flying low over the rooftops and scenting the air. The red eyes gleam with ferocious intent as it searches out the prey..there, a familiar building of concrete, and a lone dog before it. A small male mooner, barely big enough to be threat to the beast. It snarls as it drops from the air, landing in the shadows. The wings fold again with a snap, tight against the hairless body. The mooner it hunted looked up at the noise, stared around nervously. The beast grinned and stalked forward, jaws slavering. It wouldn't be long now..must spread the sickness, bring about the survival of the species. The dog was anawares as the beast prowled behind it, noiseless but smelling like rotting meat..the dog couldn't see it, but it could smell. The lone mooner was afraid, the beast could tell. "Run!" A voice came from the beast's mouth uninvited. It roared angrily and leaped at its prey, eyes flashing in fury..and the dog ran. It turned, bashed through the metal doors, and scampered into the building. The beast snarled and followed, blind to any danger. The only thing that mattered now was the Hunt. Death, decay, hunger in the night..
She'd retained some control. The greyhound tried, after all. Just because her night half wished to kill didn't mean the daytime part did. She did try to keep herself in check...operative word being try. Sometimes she lost control and didn’t get it back again. It looked like last night might have been one of those times... A paw over her nose, the greyhound kept remembering.
"Stop," the mooner mumbles to herself, shaking her head and staring around the dark building. The laboratory..she could remember it. It was safe for her, if only that dog would leave..run away, not return. Yes, the other mooner, the small male. He was here somewhere, helpless, not knowing who it was that hunted him. "How his blood will stain the ground," the beast whispered. And the mooner almost agreed, almost gave in..but as she passed a wall a sheet of broken glass threw back her reflection, the hairless beast, and she shook her head and stopped again. "Death, decay," murmered the beast, slavering hungrily. The mooner turned to stare into the glass, then away. Death and decay, indeed..that was all she was now. She moved on, looking for a place to hide..hide from the light and hide from the dark until morning. Sleep a little, maybe. It was hard nowadays. Something rattled in the depths of the building. The monster looked up sharply, sniffed the air and peered into the darkness. There, a slight movement beneath a table, and the noise of teeth chattering in fear. A growl rumbled from the depths of the beast as it heard and it dropped, crouching to stalk. The mooner could not see her, but he could hear. The monster could tell from the sound the dog made as he turned, trying to figure out where she was by the sounds of breathing. The growl rose in pitch, turning into a furious whine. The mooner was holding the beast back, not allowing it to move. Claws scrabbled against the ground and jaws strained for freedom. "Leave this place." Half-whisper, half-snarl. The dog shifted beneath the table, edging toward the half-open door. It stood and ran suddenly, footsteps pattering toward the exit. The mooner dug her claws into the ground, struggling..and lost. The beast followed, rising to the hunt with a furious cry. The door was open..the dog was out..and it slammed closed as he left. The beast smashed into the metal door with a clang and bounced off. The cry was repeated, loud in the darkness. It echoed away through the building and silence replaced it. The beast sniffed at the door and clawed at the edges, trying to force it open. Impossible..the door opened outwards and it was shut now. The beast shoved itself against the door, just in case, then turned and prowled away. Maybe there was a back door, or perhaps someone would open it during the night. Into the depths of the building it went, snarling and muttering insanely to itself. The lab was dark inside, pitch blank..frightening, perhaps, to some, although not to the beast or the mooner within it. They could see in the dark, better than the light. The ears pricked at the sound of something rattling within. Red eyes searched the darkness..nothing visible, although the sound was still there. A fierce grin lit up the beast's face, exposing snaggly teeth. It leaped and crash! Whoops. The mooner smiled slightly as true darkness fell. The beast closed its eyes.
Ah, good. It had been a lucky escape..for everyone. The other mooner, herself, the mouse she’d heard in the duct without knowing it..the greyhound sighed, relieved, and took a breath. Time to face the day. She dragged herself to her paws and stared around the semi-darkness, her yellow eyes hard. No room for rememberance now. Her ears rattled as the greyhound shook her head and sniffed the air, tasting it for the dog she’d heard enter. A faint scent came to her..female, sunner, adult. The slight rank of blood, metallic in taste, below that..this dog had eaten recently. This one was also of slightly aggressive nature, and therefore probably transformed by now. Nobody she couldn’t deal with. Why had she been so afraid? Well, the greyhound was usually nervous in the early mornings, when she didn’t know what she’d been doing all night. She breathed deeply, the smell of the morning tangible as a breeze whistled through the cracks in the boarded windows. It lent her strength..she wasn’t a sunner, but it didn’t mean that the greyhound couldn’t enjoy a little sunlight now and then. Or, at least, hadn’t at one point. She preferred not to think of that, though. The greyhound started towards where she knew the entrance was, sniffing the ground as she went and tasting the smell of herself, earlier that morning. She padded up a set of stairs and down a short hallway, and came into the main room. It was lighter here, although not too bad. She sniffed the floor thoughtfully, then raised her head and looked around. Nobody visible yet. She strolled forward, her tail and head high and looked around again. What she saw gave her pause..another dog, the same size as her. This one was definitely a sunner. It, she, appeared to be purple or something. Huh. Pacing forward, she stopped a few yards away on the other side of the room and regarded the other dog for a moment. The other one had her eyes open - it was impossible to miss the greyhound. “Ho,” she said, slightly short-tempered and unabashedly cocky. She was probably tired. It had been a bad night. “What’cha doin’ in here?”

As I continued to lie and dream in my daze of when things were 'good', I allowed myself to almost snore. Haha, what a horrible thing that would have been. It was a good thing that I decided to role over a bit then, eh? As I managed to sort of slide through the glass a little, a soft sigh escaped my muzzle. Things were.... peaceful, which was pretty uncommon, living in Dogsong and everything. My ears twitched for a moment as the soft pitter-patter of feet seemed to move over the floor. It didn't matter though, as I really was too lazy to truly lift my head and see if someone was there. If there was, then I doubted that they would pounce upon me, as the canine would more than likely be a Mooner or a Male; and if it wasn't, well I didn't need to worry, right? Right.
However, as more time passed, a smell rose in the depths of my nostrils, this new smell definitely canine. I gave a silent sniff to get the information that I needed before acting, and if I could have rolled my eyes with my lids shut, I would have. It was nothing more than a female, obviously a Mooner. It was then that I almost laughed. A Mooner. Pft. No worries there. Besides, if she tried to attack me, I could trick her into easily thinking that I was not someone to be messed with, it was that simple. I allowed my ears to softly follow her breathing and near-silent foot steps, paying close attention to her movements. By the sounds of it, she knew that I was there, yet she didn't want any trouble, and was perhaps trying to make her way to the entrance without being noticed. Hmmm... well really, she had nothing to worry about, as it was daytime, which meant that I was in my funner stage.
I smiled to myself, and then opened my eye to see a greyhound, more than likely taller than me, but I didn't really care about that. She was definitely a Mooner, her fur thin and her body slender, even more slim than my own. I closed my eyes, sure that she hadn't seen them open and listened for her to say something or try to make a break for the door. If she took the second option and tried to make a dash past me as I 'slept'; then I would just have to lunge forward and block her path. Lucky for us both though, she took the first option, probably realizing that I was alert and would easily spot her. Besides, if I was bad, she would want to try and get on my good side, right? Right. I snickered softly at her words, my eyes opening to scan her once more.
The bright teal that coloured my eyes was shinning brightly as I gave a sort of sly smile to the Greyhound. My ears rested gently upon my skull and my tail gave a single wag behind me as I rose to all four of my paws and shook the glass from my slightly feathered coat, careful not to step in any of the shards. 'Yo,' Her first words here lame, making me want to laugh in her face; but I resisted and continued to listen to her speak. 'What’cha doin’ in here?' They didn't get any more interesting and I almost snorted. Pft. Lame-o. Anyways, I managed to bring myself into the best position to show off my feminine features as I blinked softly toward her. "Hallo, deary," My voice sang out with a rhythm and I smiled softly. Slowly moving my head toward her and then running my eyes over her as so I could scan her body.
I swung my hindquarters around gently and moved closer to her, hoping to get close enough so that my longer, soft fur was brush against her short coat. The bright purpley colour of my coat was dazzling and I hoped that it would help to show that I was definitely a female, by complimenting my frame and such. Okay, so now you are probably wondering why I am making such a point that I am a female and that I am trying to show myself off, am I correct? Thought so. Well, in case you're first guess is that I'm not straight, that is wrong. To answer your next question, I am not a Bisexual neither. In fact, I am straight, I like guys; oh how I like the guys. However, it is too much fun to mess with the females to try and resist it.
I inched closer, sure to be past a comfortable point now as, like I mentioned before, I did my best to brush against her body, trying hard to reach her height as I did so. My paws were gracefully touching the ground and my eyes bright and happy. Tongue lolled from the side of my mouth and I moved my muzzle toward one of her ears. "I'm just looking for some fun; and yourself, babe? Whatcha doing here?" My voice was low and took on the seducing tone that I would use to manipulate a male. Haha, what fun this would be. However, I did hope that she wouldn't try to kill me, as she probably was stronger than I; and she was a Greyhound, which naturally meant she would also be faster than me.
My tail wagged a soft tempo behind me, playful and happy with each step. My ears were careful to listen for the voice to once again erupt from the opposing female's muzzle. My collar was spun around, and the engravement could be easily read, having come from the lab as it gave my gender, number, and breed out. At least my name was not written upon that shiny piece of metal. Lifting a soft paw, I flipped over the tag to once again show the star instead of the engravement. My collar moved around my neck a bit as my shoulder blades moved with my steps, as they naturally should. With a soft whine toward the female, I would end my turn and take a step back to listen for her voice and hope to not be attacked.

The greyhound's expression grew skeptical as the other dog rose to her paws and padded toward her. What kind of dog was this? Teal eyes, purple..or was it pink?..fur, slinking across the floor toward her with a smirk on her face. Maybe sunners were even wierder than she'd heard. Either that or this was just a front for attack. Of course, this dog was smaller than she was, and didn't look nearly as mean. Although, she might be judging the dog by her fur, which was not always a safe thing to do. Since this dog had pink (red?) fur, the greyhound figured she would take her chances. Not exactly the colors of a figher. Whatever the colors were. "Hallo, deary,"[/b] What the? She coughed slightly, choking back a derisive snort, yellow eyes openly scornful. That music in her tone..was she trying to be seductive? What a b.... The greyhound turned her head slowly, watching the other dog circle. Fur brushed against her flank and the light flashed suddenly as the other dog entered a sunbeam. It seared the greyhound's eyes..she closed them for a moment, then squinted before opening her eyes wide again. Evidently she wasn't ready to go outside yet. Instinct screamed to get away from this bizarre female, but the greyhound stayed put, used to showing no fear or discomfort. She allowed her arrogance to blaze forth, though, cold as ice and bright as the damned sun outside. A faint grin spread across her face as she blew through her fangs, knowing the rotting smell that came from her maw. Rarely would another dog stay within several yards of her when they'd smelled that. It was, in fact, her best weapon during the daytime. No response from the other dog. Maybe she was dense, or the smell was taking a while to really get started. Well, it was a big room. "I'm just looking for some fun; and yourself, babe? Whatcha doing here?" The words were whispered into her ear - the greyhound flicked it back, annoyed by the tickle it made, and stepped to one side. Enough of that. She turned, staring down the other female cooly. Her eyes were caught by a flash of metal on the dog's neck..a collar? A collar? What kind of dog still wore a collar? Was she fraternizing with humans or just too dense to remove it? The greyhound glanced at the metal tag quickly, but as she couldn't read there was no point..and anyway, the other dog flipped it up to show only a picture of a star. Obviously that was sensitive material of some kind. If she could read.. But she couldn't, and a shame it was. The other dog whined as she backed away, and the greyhound nearly laughed. What a loser. There was no way she would fall for this stuff..did the other dog really think she was that stupid? Yellowed teeth flashed in her maw as the mooner spoke, and even she could smell the stench that came forth. "Me? Killing dogs - destroying souls. Death, decay, hunger in the night. Y'know?" It was spoken in a easy tone of voice, as if she was having a pleasant chat with a friend and not handing out veiled threats like meat after a hunt. She waited for her tone and words to sink in, then continued in a slightly amused manner, flicking her ears back and smirking. "You're good..stupid males and pups would have trouble seeing through your schemes. You can put a stick in it, though. I'm not in the mood for manipulative games right now." Having stated this, the greyhound considered what to do next. She had various options, being bigger and faster..kill the other dog, leave her here in her fantasies, keep talking in the hopes that the other female would awaken from these same imaginings and turn out to be slightly interesting. Killing..well, it would take care of the problem, but she wasn't really in the mood for that. The greyhound had a close shave last night already, and she liked her save her destroying of souls for dark. Leaving her here would be more palatable, but frankly not very interesting. It had been a while since the greyhound had a chat. Sounded like the last one, then. Hmm, well, maybe it would be more fun now that the greyhound had hinted strongly that she was competent. It was, of course, a little sad that she had to resort to chatting with sunners, but none of the mooners wanted to talk to her. Obvious reasons. Undead creatures didn't make for wonderful packmates.
Hm. "So," she said, her voice back to the relaxed conversational tone from before. "I assume you have a name? Most dogs do." "I'm called Akea," she lied in helpful tone of voice, her yellow eyes radiating guarded friendliness. In reality, she didn't care much, but Talyu - that being her real name - figured she could afford to be polite. That was, after all, what most dogs did..offered a name. Talyu didn't bother with propriety as a rule, but she could always make exceptions. Or, as it were, half-exceptions. Akea, of course, was a totally different dog..a small, fuzzy, white mooner. The Beast had run into her more than once, since Akea seemed to have some kind of revenge thing goin' on - a dead relative, maybe. What a small dog thought she could do against the undead Talyu didn't know, but there it was. The point was to have a name that sounded real, since it was actually someone's name. Not hers, but someone's. Talyu glanced sideways at a crack in the boarded wall, waiting for the purple sunner to reply. It looked like the sun was just up. She ought to be able to stand going out pretty soon, once the sun had risen high enough for trees to shade her. The greyhound could use a snack, too, having not hunted anything but her own kind last night. Flying usually made her hungry. Her gaze turned back to the other dog, head cocked to one side as she waited for a response.

A sort of playful grin played across my muzzle and I watched her snap her ear back with my words as they came once more before I moved away. I had been careful to do well and observe her all the while, especially as I was moving around her, and it appearad as if she didn't like sunlight. I assuming this after having watched how she seemed to flinch and had a hard time looking after the sun had ran over my body and showed my coat off quite well. She seemed to be annoyed by my coloring from the very beginning, my color changing coat probably being what had seemed to annoy her. It did appear different colours at different times, afterall, red where there was no sun to reflect off of it, purple when I was not standing directly in the Sunlight, and pink when I passed under the shinning sun. I will admit, that it personally annoys me, but since the laboratory experiments, I have grown quite used to it.
Wanting to place a paw over my nostrils as the opposing female seemed to blow her horrid breath in my direction, I did my best to let on that it didn't bother me, and in fact, I was doing quite well. But really now, what would you expect from a world class actress? There was no way to tell that I was disturbed by her breath, and as I watched - my smile still resting annoyingly on my muzzle - I managed to take note that she seemed displeased that her filthy stentch wasn't quite bothering me like she had hoped. Sure, I normally would have backed off, but she was trying to get rid of me, and well, I wasn't going to put up with that. I mean, why should I? Ahaha, besides it's much for fun watching her go into a frenzy because she can't dispose of me.
Taking the sunken words from the Greyhound into consideration, I thought them over quickly, my mind racing for something good to snap back at her. 'Me? Killing dogs - destroying souls. Death, decay, hunger in the night. Y'know? You're good..stupid males and pups would have trouble seeing through your schemes. You can put a stick in it, though. I'm not in the mood for manipulative games right now.' I almost chuckled as I repeated them in my mind, but forced them back with the hidden disgust for the other dog. "Why, thank you!" I barked in reply to her final comment. It was nice to know that I was getting some notice for my ways. However, I quickly continued, taking back the tone that I had spoken in just before. Come, come; we both know that you are just trying to scare me off because of your fears for your feelings, honey. And while I must say, you smell like shit, you aren't quite going to get rid of me yet. I smiled sweetly and giggled softly before moving back toward her, watching carefully as I was ready to bound off if she snapped at me.
After a few minutes, the voice came once more and I was pleased to see that the conversation would be clearly continued. 'So, I assume you have a name? Most dogs do. I'm called Akea' Her voice seemed... relaxed. Good, good. "A name?" I inquired with a look of stupidity crossing my face before replacing it with a gradual grin. "Well of course I have a name, sweety, and while most call me gawjus, I suppose that I could give you my other calling." I spoke softly as I began to move around her once more, my body sliding in the same way as before as I allowed our bodies to come in contact and my body heat to slightly transfer toward her, wondering if I was making her all the more uncomfortable.
My tail ran soft against her body, and I worked just like I would if I were trying to get the King of England. Now, I debated between sharing my real name, or lying. I had yet to lie to her, but perhaps I could start my recognition now with a real name? Ahaha, not! "Call me Rayna, baby. It means Princess if you prefer that, sweetcheecks." I inched my muzzle toward her face. Not once had I really met another dog named Rayna, but I had a mind full of names to replace mine with, only giving out my real one to high authorities and males that really caught my attention. However, that isn't all that important right now. I did my best to rub up against the Greyhound, Akea, as I believe she said her name was.
With a gigle almost escaping my muzzle, I moved my face closer to hers, hoping that my next plan would be able to be followed through. My tongue rolled from my mouth, slowly running over my own yellow teeth and black lips before I tried to run it up her own cheeck and toward the edge of her mouth. I wasn't exactly planning on licking her lips, or teeth at that, but if she were to move her head in really any way, I would have ended up doing that. My tail wagged softly behind me and I wondered if I would end up with my neck slit open from this. I mean, sure the lab was big, but there weren't many things to climb, and she is pretty tall... I shook the thoughts of being chased by the bitch from my head and snapped myself back to what was going on.
Drawing my head back slowly and then dancing in front of her a few feet, tail wagging behind me - trying it's hardest to get rid of that smell - as I turned my face from her, nearly gagging as it seemed like the putrid smell now tainted my mouth and salmon coloured tongue. Slowly, I raised my head and allowed my bright eyes to slowly slip over my shoudler to look at her and wait for a reaction, anything that would give me a laugh and work for a good story in the future. Stories were always funny to tell, especially when your listener was completely unsure if they were true or false. I giggled at the thought, but did my best to not smile, but instead just watch Akea with my teal eyes and hope for something good to happen.
Thinking back a bit, I remembered doing something like this when I was younger and still at the laboratory.... I believe with Danish... or was his name something else? Either way, it was my brother. Slowly, I remembered him licking my face in a way that siblings should never lick each other, holding his tongue there much longer than he should have and sort of scaring Mum and Pap. Ahaha, so it was him that I learned much of this stuff from? How great. At least I can say that my family taught me to act like I do, eh? Turning my head to giggle once more, I gradually turned to fully face the other dog, curious still as to what would become of me within the next few minutes or if she would just leave, no matter how much she didn't seem to like the sun. Either way, at least I had had some fun, eh?

Talyu nearly snarled with annoyance..it didn't appear that any of her tricks were working, nor that this stupid bitch was going to let up her act anytime soon. That meant that she was serious..unlikely..or that she was very determined. Or, Talyu supposed, stupid. It seemed like a reasonable assumption to make. After all, the other dog had chosen to keep this up, even after Talyu had threatend to take care of her problems forever. Come, come; we both know that you are just trying to scare me off because of your fears for your feelings, honey. And while I must say, you smell like shit, you aren't quite going to get rid of me yet. Fear for her feelings? What feelings? Talyu barely felt anything for anyone these days, and certainly not regarding this female. She was annoyed, to be sure, but who wouldn't be? Talyu knew some dogs that would've torn this pink sunner's throat out the minute they saw her and never stopped to talk. Come to think of it, that was sounding more fun every second that she listened to this spiel.. The greyhound ignored the next few sentences, instead clenching her jaws together tightly and controlling the strong urge to knock someone unconscious. A faint image of a bit of pink, red-stained fur ran through Talyu's mind..she allowed herself to enjoy this for a second, right down to the smell of the blood, but returned from her fantasies as fur brushed her flank again. "Call me Rayna, baby. It means Princess if you prefer that, sweetcheecks." She resisted the urge to laugh at the name. Princess...the kind of thing a pet dog was called, one of the little obnoxious kinds that looked like large rat-dogs. Princess. Talyu snickered slightly at the name, unable to stop herself this time, and turned her head away from the other female. An annoyed growl escaped her as she barely avoided being licked. Enough of that. Talyu bared her fangs, rotten and black..what else would one expect? Just because she was whole on the outside in the daytime didn't mean she was that much different inwardly. One didn't quit being undead during the daytime; it was just easier to hide. The smell of rot came from her mouth as she huffed her breath out irritably and snapped her jaws. The greyhound raised her head and tail and padded away from the female, turning in a slight circle to block the pink dog's way to the door. Her eyes glittered with annoyance that bordered on outright anger, and a slight snarl found its way around her blackened fangs. Time to take care of this problem. After all, she was a sunner, and that meant she was fair game for any mooners that came across her.. Talyu paused as an idea came to her. Inwardly, she grinned with satisfaction. Outwardly her expression never changed from the annoyed snarl that curled her black lips. "Well, Princess," Talyu hissed, "Hope y' enjoyed that. I think I'll have fun with this." She padded towards the door and turned, standing in front of it to keep the other dog from getting away. "Let's play hide-and-seek now..it' always been my favorite. I'll count slowly to twelve..after all, y' are smaller than I am and should get a good long start..an' you hide. If y' get out this door before I find you, you win. If not, you lose, baby." She sat on the floor, leaning against the metal. Her yellow eyes flashed as a beam of sunlight hit her in the face - she lowered her head down to get away from it. From here Talyu regarded the pink dog, watching for her reaction. "Game starts now," she announced after a minute, and snapped her eyes closed. Talyu didn't need to give her a choice..it was go or be killed outright. At least this way the pink dog had the usual chance before Talyu gave in to the desire to purge this annoyance from the world forever. "One." This could take a while. Talyu pricked her ears, listening for the sound of running paws. This was the moment that mattered most. Would the dog Rayna run and hide, attack her outright, or just stand there? Talyu didn't know what was likely to happen..she'd never tried this out before..but she did know that a desperate dog would fight no matter how the odds were of her actually winning. Talyu would just have to find out if the pink dog was scared yet. "Two." She never could resist the urge to cheat just a little. Talyu opened her eyes a bare slit, just enough to let in a little of the room, and peered around hoping to see where the other dog went. She was almost starting to have fun now..if only the other dog didn't have to die at the end of this, then it would be just like running around in the dark nighttime with Sigrar and Sigmund. Talyu had always cheated on those games, too, but she never won since her brothers were all bigger than she was. That, of course, was why she was always the 'seeker'..but it also meant that Talyu got plenty of practice. "Three."
Talyu 935 words Complete I would've made it longer, but no muse..anyhow, it will do. It's not terrible, just not as long as I would have liked.

My eyes watched her with pure amusement. Ahaha, so she seemed to be becoming quite furious, that snarl was backing me up on the idea. If she wasn't becoming annoyed and mad at me, why would she be snarling? There was no other explanation. She also seemed, perhaps a little surprised at my 'stupidity' to keep on acting in this manner, especially after her warning, or threat as you could also call it, making me want to giggle. Perhpas, that wasn't the best thing though, as it could mean that she was going to hurt me, especially with how she was more than likely faster and stronger than myself. Still, I did not back down, nor did I submit or show signs of stopping my act. At least not yet. This was just to much fun for me.
Suddenly, she seemed to snicker at the name I had given out, but I bothered not to retort in anyway. I didn't feel like giving up my fun just to get back at her for mocking me in that way. Besides, it's not like it really bugged me, and if I was in her position, I might have done the same thing, especially if it were night. However, as the female now growled, I could not help but to drop my ears and take a step back. If she was going to try and pounce on me, well I would not just sit there and allow it. What kind of dog would that make me? A lame one. Instead, I would still hold my place and refuse to back off or leave her. But personally, that was just me and perhaps my stubborn attitude?
Suddenly, my bright teal eyes that had previously beamed with excitement, seemed to be frowning and quite disguisted. I took a step back, sticking out my tongue at the grossness of her blackened teeth and the once again looming stench of rott that waffered from her muzzle. What a dirty ass pig. I shook my head and held back a scowl, lifting myself to properly watch her once again, to see what she was going to do. I watched her carefully as she stood and moved around, blocking my pathway to the door as I cocked my head to the side and wondered what was to come of this action. If she were going to kill me, I figure she would have darted at me, not blocked the door with her skinny body, as if I couldn't slip under her body nor just turn and find a back exit.
The Mooner seemed to be taking a more dominant position now and her own eyes had taken that sort of gleam. However, her's shone differently, in a way that made me wonder what was to come of her now. The black lips from the greyhound were once again in a snarl and I dropped my ears to the side of my head, as to block out the growling rumble that normally came with a snarl. Still, I watched with full interest, my eyes taking back their shine as the I watched and waited, my paws shifting softly and curiously as to what would come next and if I should fear this Mooner or not. However, so far I really doubted that I should, as the female really didn't give me any reason to not want to hang around. In fact, she had fallen right into my purple paws and become easily furious with me, just as expected.
'Well, Princess, Hope y' enjoyed that. I think I'll have fun with this.' I snorted softly in retort as she continued to stand in a way that sort of blocked the door. Not really like I needed it anyways. I was smaller and could easily find places to hide away from her. 'Let's play hide-and-seek now..it' always been my favorite. I'll count slowly to twelve..after all, y' are smaller than I am and should get a good long start..an' you hide. If y' get out this door before I find you, you win. If not, you lose, baby.' I wrinkled my nose as if she had just read my mind and almost giggled at her words. Man, did it sound funny hearing the word 'baby' come from that Greyhound's muzzle. I continued to watch as the Greyhound sat down and did her best to avert her gaze and herself from the sun's light, her yellow eyes still beaming.
Haha, so was this it? Was she planning on killing me now? I almost burst out laughing at her, but decided to play along. Really, how hard would it be? By what I had observed from her, she didn't like the sun, so I would have to hide somewhere where it would shine on me and somewhere small where she couldn't see me. Pft. Easy. 'Game starts now' She barked and closed her eyes before starting to count. I rolled my eyes and picked up my body, strolling light and dainty over the flooring, my paws barely touching the ground as my teal eyes searched for a good place. If I was smart, I would choose something nearest the door, that she would not think to look in. "You're on." I had finally barked as the sound of the first number hit my ears.
My tail raised and I moved silently, figuring that the female was probably taking a peak. "No cheating, babe!" I barked over my shoulder, not sure if she had taken a look or not, but she had seemed like the female that would. It was then that I silently ducked under an old table, squeezing underneath to come out the other end and calmly move back toward the entrance. The room was filled with all sorts of things to hide in, including tables, drawers, and behind viles, but I had already choosen a spot that I found perfect for the job. Just to the right of the door, right under one of the old windows were the rising sun poured through was a dark beam, fallen from the roof. I walked to the back of it, and managed to pull myself up the beam.
Turning softly so that I could look down, I managed to make it all the way to the top so as the sun would shine off me so brightly that my pelt would just blend in and the shadows just behind me would take care of the rest of the hiding. The drop wasn't that bad, so I could make an escape. Slowly, I then slid between where the roof had also caved in a bit and the beam, flattening myself enough to still have moving room. Perfect.
